Secret

I wanted to say I always loved you,
and I yearned to reach out for your hands
hanging freely in the dusty hallway air.
That feeling of burning desire, it was
too much at times to think about.
Your grinning visage, your brassy laugh dancing away could be
something that lifted my spirits on the darkest day, and
there were months filled with hope and hopelessness; you were
never aware of my presence, yet
I always knew you were there.

I always knew you were there:
never aware of my presence, yet
there were months filled with hope and hopelessness. You were
something that lifted my spirits on the darkest day, and
your grinning visage, your brassy laugh dancing away could be
too much at times to think about.
That feeling of burning desire, it was
hanging freely in the dusty hallway air,
and I yearned to reach out for your hands –
I wanted to say I always loved you.

  1. Wow. That's great. It's hard to write mirror poems - you made it look so easy while it was an awesome poem!
